Wilbur Soot is a Siren who loves screwing with the captain-of-a-pirate-ship's son, Tommy. Nobody believes Tommy when he talks about Wilbur. It stays like this. The teasing, the toying, that is, until a storm hits, and Tommy falls overboard. Wilbur loves to mess with the boy, but now is no time for jokes. This is life or death for this boy. Tommy can somewhat remember a pair of hands grabbing him, and him grabbing a piece of wood to float on. Wilbur pushes the boy back to the ship where his brother and his two friends are there to pull him back aboard. Once Tommy can think, he knows that it only could've been the Siren that had saved him. It wasn't supposed to be him. He hadn't spent his life to do this one thing for his village. To save it from the gods wrath. It wasn't supposed to be him. But the old priest had died the day before, unexpectedly throwing their safety into a fragile knifes edge. They had to do something. Give something, to the Blood God. And who would miss little six year old, troublemaker orphan, Tommy?

So what happens when Tommy brings home a stray cat and hides it from his family? Oh yeah, and no one knows Wilbur, who's the human side of WilburSoot, the cat hybrid. What happens then?
