Ash likes Cilan, Cilan likes Ash, but Cilan is afraid if he, himself confesses too fast like Ash did, it might ruin things. Maybe they weren't ready or Cilan was afraid of being abandoned or rejected. Iris also likes Ash and wants to do anything to be with him, although Ash hates Iris and loves Cilan only.
