BOOK ONE. Fairy Tail is among many famous demon-hunting organizations in the kingdom of Fiore. Dedicating their lives to putting a stop to the demons' plague on Earthland, demon hunters specialize in their own techniques to taking down demons. Some used guns and swords, while others used pure brute strength to do the job. Levy McGarden, orphaned as a child because of one of these demons, became a hunter for the Fairy Tail organization. She made it her life's mission to avenge her parents' death by killing the demon responsible. When the leader of Fairy Tail, Master Makarov, sends her team on a seemingly hopeless assignment, her life is forever changed by one fated encounter. Gajeel Redfox, an exceptionally powerful demon known as a dragon slayer, crashes into Levy's life with a fury. Although neither of them know it, they will become closer than they ever thought possible, and Gajeel will lead Levy straight to her parents' killer. Unfortunately for Levy, the demon she has been seeking for so long will be the only one she can't bring herself to kill.

Levy likes Gajeel, but she is convinced that he could never like a bookworm like her. Gajeel likes Levy, but he is convinced that he isn't good enough for her, and that he couldn't possibly hold such feelings for another person. In an attempt to push their feelings away, Gajeel acts totally indifferent to Levy, while Levy does the unthinkable—she goes on a date with a local bookstore employee! When something happens to make Gajeel realize that he can't live without Levy, will he be able to let her go, or will he fight to win her back? (I'm really bad at book descriptions...)

This is book 2 of The Puppet Master! It is a short story following Gajeel and Levy after the events that take place in the palace!

Book 1 Levy McGarden had known what her feelings for Gajeel Redfox were for a while, but she had never admitted them openly to anyone--although nothing stayed a secret from Lucy Heartfillia for very long. When Jet and Droy go out of town, leaving Levy without a team and no way to take many jobs, she ends up joining together with Gajeel and Pantherlily on their next big job. Although excited because of the positive turn of events, Levy is dumbfounded at how oblivious Gajeel is to her. Hell, he hardly even speaks to her! When things go south for the team, and Levy finds herself in more trouble than she had bargained for, Gajeel rushes to her rescue. In the process of risking his own life for that of Levy's, the iron dragon slayer realizes that this little bookworm might mean more to him that he had thought. Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN FAIRY TAIL! Gajeel and Levy may not have realized it yet, but they treasured each others company. They treasured each others personalities and sense of humor, knowing that no one could ever make the other as happy as they did. They treasured the love they had for one another.
