When Chloe gets attacked in her hometown, Louisville, Kentucky, her heart is shattered and she is scared, then her best friend moves away and she thinks nothing will be the same until Sam Jerrold moves next door in her old friends house, and she tells him her story one day and they share their first kiss. Sam leaves during Spring break to be with his cousin who is in the hospital after a bad car crash, and Chloe's best friend comes back to visit, hoping to meet Sam, but Sam's cousin dies, and he ends up staying with his family. One night chloe decides to go out for a walk, she leaves the hotel that she was staying at with Loretta and her mom, and forgets her cell phone, Chloe disapears, and everyone thinks she ran away, but she is in danger. Can she make it out of Saratoga woods and into Jeffersontown Kentucky before trouble finds her? And will she ever be the same once she gets home?
