Claire disobeys Jamie's admonition to stay put and finds herself at the circle of stones, once again. Meanwhile, wallowing in misery, that very same day, Frank travels to Craigh na Dun, and is startled as he imagines hearing Claire calling to him. He dismisses it as a hallucination, born of his loneliness. But at a later date, he returns, and this time goes through the portal to find her. Torn when they meet, she finds she can't leave her beloved Jamie. This is NOT a Frank/Claire pairing.

On the Eve of the Battle of Culloden, Jamie delegates a job to Murtagh. He's to take Claire back to the stones. Only problem is, she refuses to stay away, and stubbornly returns to save Jamie from a certain death. A little thing like a British victory will not separate them, not now, not ever.

Claire discloses her secret to Jamie, who is skeptical, but willing to test the truth. Determined to do the honorable thing, he takes her to Craigh na Dun, to send her back through the stones, but at the last minute changes his mind. Grabbing her hand, he goes through with her. A fish out of water, he faces challenges he never before encountered. Only her love can save his sanity.

Summary: Jamie takes his pregnant wife to the stones so she and the child can survive in the future. She is only 2 months along at this point. She returns promptly, only to find that somehow she went back too far, and has to relive her experiences. Her pregnant condition poses problems, but our hero marries her despite the warnings of his kin. They avoid the prison scenario, and Culloden never happens. HEA all around.

Claire's punishment by Jamie does more harm than good. Already emotionally fragile from one failed relationship, Claire cannot cope with Jamie physically harming her. He worries that his traditions have broken his usually strong Sassenach bride.
