When the xy group splits up, Serena is broken. She looses in the final round and fails to become Kalos Queen. Serena goes down some dark paths and develops dangerous habits, and her mom worries for her. Grace decides to send Serena to a Pokemon University in hopes Serena can turn her life around. Ash on the other hand beat the Pokemon League and is bored with his life. He begs his mom to let him go the the new Pokemon University with his old rival and now good friend Gary.
