Yoko Kurama was born as a deaf fox yokai. He spent his life reading lips to understand what people were saying. Due to being deaf, he could hardly talk, but all of his other senses were increased. After 985 years, he got caught and merged himself into a baby named Shuichi Minamino, now calling himself "Kurama." Soon...

Kurama's unsure how to express his feelings through words, so he writes poetry instead. As Hiei reads the poems, he responds back with little notes.
