Like a sweet mist had been lifted Steve was exposed to the truth, unwillingly, like an alarm clock that would not shut up. "I never loved you Steve." The words that Nancy said played over and over inside his head, like an endless record that's sole purpose was to torture him In his time of suffering. He had basically lost all of his friends, his pride, his social rank to be with Nancy. Defending her had made him lose everything, not that he regretted it, but he was now more alone than he had ever been before. King Steve, that title he had lost the moment he made his relationship with Nancy public. He loved her, real love like nothing he had ever felt before. Now he was just alone, it was the truth. He didn't have any friends left, Nancy was the last one he had. Nancy was the only reason to go to college, to have a life, because he wanted to be with her when they were both old, wrinkly, he wanted her to be the last thing he ever saw... The only one he could think of loving, he knew no other... However with the loss of this title there were those who still believed that Steve had power when in reality, he had nothing.

After the events of Season 2 Steve finds himself struggling with various different things. And school isn't helping. Since he's fallen from his throne,the school has crowned a new king, and everyone has begun to pick on Steve. His once friends,now enemies, have started to get in on the fun, constantly picking on him and hurting him however they can.
