Rise of the Guardians AU. Some liberties are taken. In this story, the spirits are created by the Sun. Horren Blaze is one of the most ancient spirits of the world, but also a loner. He has cut his ties with the Sun centuries ago but no one knows why. One day, an old friend of his comes to seek his help. The Boogeyman is back and more powerful than ever, the Sun is convinced Horren is the only one who can stop him. Will the viking spirit put aside his resentment for the Sun to help the Guardians ?

"Well, if you haven't noticed, that little stunt you pulled likely didn't leave the best impression," Topaz muttered, crossing her arms, "If that crush of yours decides to break ties with the IPC because of you, we both know it's your head on the chopping block." She didn't mean to call Dr. Ratio his crush, the word just came tumbling out in the midst of her ireful rant, but her eyes widened when the faint tint of red against the other's face expanded into a full on blush. "My crush?" Aventurine repeated, his tone was teasing but she noticed the way it slightly shook. He put his shades over his eyes before turning back to her, "Thought you were more mature than to use such elementary terms, let alone believe in love, but you prove me wrong, Miss Topaz." OR Topaz had always felt apprehensive around Aventurine, but after getting a glimpse of his true demeanor underneath that self-confident exterior of his, she starts to understand him better. Thus, begins her secret mission to get him and the unknowing catalyst of their friendship, Dr. Ratio, together.

"Do not turn around." Ratio doesn't need to be told twice, for he already knows how the myth goes. He has braved the sea of Nihility once, and he'll do it again. Except, this time he has company... or so he hopes. "I trust that you are there, Aventurine." Silence. Or: Ratio is Orpheus, leading his dearest Eurydice out of the sea of Nihility after he's gambled his life away.
