At Letchworth Academy of Demon-Hunting, young warriors are trained until they are ready to serve the demonhunter's council, the Sunder. In his final year, Edgar Kelpheart's exams are looking much closer this side of Christmas, and he's hardly in his best shape. Part of a group of friends who foiled a desperate attempt to utilise one of the Sacred Sigils to gain eternal life, he has struggled since the battle, his ability to wield angelic magic waning. The magic of his runes has him leeching life from his best friend, his brother-in-arms. When more paranormal bodies are found in Portsmouth's streets, Edgar sees signs pointing to a familiar culprit. He just hopes he can find a way to face them... A slightly longer piece experimenting with many of Cassandra Clare's concepts (so credit to her, of course) and with @grinchly's characters (so credit to her, too). Sequel to A Raven's Wing. New chapter every Saturday!

Original fiction partially inspired by Alice in Wonderland and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. ⭐️ ONC 2025 Short List

-- English & German versions -- A heist gone wrong. A young ex-sniper lying in the dark of the subway, her leg trapped in the wreckage. A thing sniffing around, searching. Searching for the box. The box she has stolen... Get into the night! Into the museum with its artifacts! Into the subway where the world and the past come crashing down-and hope is just one clever thought away... Hi guys, we're back, this time again with something more experimental-a storyline that backtracks through its timeline. Kind of curious whether this works for you-at least, it was quite some fun to write! Especially when the story suddenly switches to Syria, and I have absolutely no idea how that happened... :-) There is a brilliant review by @TaintedBloodBooks, check it out here: https://taintedbloodbookscom.wordpress.com/2024/11/02/book-review-hexenbox/ And another review by bookishbeam on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DB_vkM8TYHn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Happy reading!

-- English & German versions -- It was in the early morning hours of a bitter-cold January 31st that William Balthazar Armenstreed solved the Kopolsky puzzle. There was a sharp click in the otherwise absolute silence of the flat, the house, the narrow street with its seamless rows of old brickwork houses and ancient trees ... This is another story building on ideas from my ongoing worldbuilding project. It's not so much a "regular" short story and more like what a first chapter could be - like an opening window into the themes of the main project. There is a great review by @TaintedBloodBooks, check it out here: https://taintedbloodbookscom.wordpress.com/2024/08/05/book-review/ Btw, page 1 is the English version ("The King in Scarlet Black"), page 2 the German ("Der Fürst in Scharlachblau"). Happy reading!
