Adalynn is a writer of fantasy and adventure books who moved into New Your City to begin living her new life after the tragic death of her parents. One day as Adalynn is trying to get that perfect idea for her new book she gets a call from her best friend Louis who hears struggle in her voice and asks her to take some time off her work. Agreeing she decides to go out with her best friend and have some fun time. But after taking her dog Jasper on an evening walk she gets shot.
