Death is a funny thing. It's the ultimate step out of our comfort zones. You realize this world is the biggest comfort zone there is. Earth has always been a constant in a constantly changing world. We're all born into it with this air of certainty. We always know the ground under our feet will be there tomorrow. Death is like waking up and that comfort of the world around you is destroyed. -AD // Mackenzie Oliver is finally a senior. She's ready to graduate and move on with life. But it's not that simple. Je suis différente. Certes, c'est ce que tout le monde dit, et puis quand dès nos dix ans on apprend à contrôler notre élément, il faut bien avouer que le mot différents correspond bien aux personnes comme moi. C'est pour ça que je suis dans un internat avec des personnes comme moi : on obtient un élément à notre dixième équinoxe, puis un pouvoir à notre quinzième. Rien de plus normal, sauf que même dans cette situation, les autres ne sont pas comme moi. Comme tout adolescente, je fais de mon mieux pour suivre en cours, j'ai mes amis, je vis ma vie en quelques sortes, faisant comme si le fait de posséder un élément était normal. Cette technique fonctionnait bien, jusqu'à ce que toute ma vie parte en vrille. -- Il y a dans le livre la version réécrite (avec des petites coches verte) et la version que j'avais écrite quand j'avais 15ans. Certains éléments de l'histoire auront donc changé
