Katara lives in District Twelve, constantly struggling to support her family after the death of her mother. She dreads the Reaping each year just like everyone else, knowing if she is chosen she would be sent to the Capitol to fight in the Hunger Games, a televised competition where twenty-four teenagers fought to the death. But when the day finally comes, it isn't her who is chosen. It's her brother, Sokka. So Katara does the unthinkable. She volunteers to take his place. And suddenly she is thrust into the glamorous world of the Capitol along with her district partner, Zuko, headed to the arena. Making alliances, fighting enemies, and staying alive is hard enough. Zutara happens!!! Here is my version of what the rest of the Avatar the Last Airbender would look like if Zutara actually happened. I start from the Agni Kai between Azula and Zuko and we just go from there. I just want to add, I made the effects of Zuko's lightning wound a lot worse than they were portrayed in the show, since I feel like, even though he did get healed by Katara, his reactions and recovery time were very unrealistic (that's probably just me though). I also came up with some new concepts that have to do with Chi and the Spirit World, so hopefully they work with the story and the rest of the Avatar Universe. Long ago, the four nations were engaged in war. But everything changed when the Fire Nation splits in half. The moon trapped in an advancing circle of fire. The sun forced to shine for the enemy. Inevitably destined to crash together. During the invasion, Katara is separated from the group and is taken prisoner along with the adults. Zuko, when finally deciding to follow his heart and help the avatar, realizes to prove himself to the Avatar he must save Katara and return her to them. So he doesn't yet confront his father and continues to pretend to be the perfect prince, waiting for the moment he can escape with the Avatar's waterbending teacher. But Azula has other plans, intending to extract all the information she can from Katara she starts to play a dangerous mind game. Slowly starting to try and twist Katara's perspective. Katara is 18 and the Southern Water Tribe has held an uneasy allegiance with the Fire Nation for the last 100 or so years. When Katara's tribe goes through a food shortage, Katara takes it upon herself to make sure they survive. She agrees to enter a competition where the young Prince Zuko will choose a wife out of 35 women.
