When a spy brings news that an old inventor might have the key to finally bringing the war with Napoleon to an end, Scott Hoying, Officer of His Majesty's War Office, is dispatched north to discover if there's anything to these tales of dirigibles and flying-craft. Instead of flying-craft, however, he finds a unusual, dilapidated house - and instead of an old inventor, he finds Mitch Grassi, complete with his pet hedgehog. With Mitch's scientist grandfather missing, Scott is left trying to protect Mitch, rescue his grandfather and ensure that the secrets of flying-craft remain out of enemy hands.
Vaguely steampunk-y AU in which the Napoleonic Wars didn't end with the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, but instead carried on well into the next decade.
