Ha sacrificato tutta la sua vita per lei, dalla famiglia alle amicizie e perfino l'amore, ma quando sta per ricevere la tanto agognata promozione e diventare la più giovane primario di cardiochirurgia, un atto di curiosità la porta a vivere un'avventura particolare. Per via di un'invenzione creata dal padre, spinto a trovare un modo per salvare la vita all'altra figlia morta in circostanze drammatiche, Andrea si ritrova a viaggiare indietro nel tempo, saltando di vita in vita nei panni di alcune sue antenate vivendo situazioni pericolose ed emozionanti, con la costante paura di non poter tornare più in se stessa.
