Batman knows the Joker. He knows how he talks, how he moves and how he acts. He thinks he has the clown figured out. However when Heroes and villains alike start to go missing in Gotham, Batman and Joker have to work together to solve the case. As the stakes grow higher Batman discovers there may be more to the clown prince of crime than meet the eye. They must learn to trust each other before it's too late. (This is a batman x joker fic so expect a lot of fluff, humour and maybe some darker stuff later >:D )

At first, it was a regular night for Bruce as he went out through the night as the dark vigilante, Batman. As time ticked by, the night grew - stranger - beneath the bat signal's light, was a note. From the Joker. Months pass before Batman is seen out on the streets again. But he's different, strange. But most importantly, what is up with his eyes? ----- In this world, Batman doesn't have a Robin. He never has. He sticks to himself; even the Justice League don't see him. No one sees Batman without a mask except Alfred. Batman is darker, already slightly twisted in the head - he's spent his whole life, fighting people like the Joker, people who don't deserve his pity. So he doesn't give then them any. He holds grudges even beyond the memory of others. He hates asking for help. ----- "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

When Joker escapes Arkham once again, he collapses in Bruce's arms. Bruce knows that something is wrong so instead of taking him back to Arkham, he takes the sick man to the Batcave. It's obvious that Joker wants any kind of attention from Batman. He constantly flirts and makes flirtatious jokes. But, when Bruce Wayne starts to have feelings for the clown, he ignores them, burying them deep down. He pretends that the Joker is just playing. He pretends that Joker is just messing with his mind. But he knows that they both have feelings for one another.

Is the clown there for good or is he planning something? When he gets to Arkham the last thing he expected was to see Joker bruised, bloody and broken. He makes the decision to take Joker into his care. Bruce has always had feelings for his clown but pushed them away. During his time caring for Joker, he accepts his feelings, soon enough having an actual relationship with him. But he's afraid he can't protect Joker from the people who hurt him before.

This is my first wattpad story and it'll be about some good B x J, I am gonna try to include some yaoi smut in this story, it is the main reason why I'm making this story after all.
