MJ left Mystic Falls after graduation, and though she kept in contact with people (some more than others), she wasn't going back. Why would she, when she could finally go home? Once Upon a Time, MJ Ruiz was the witch who broke the hybrid curse, now...well, she is one. The ancestors are preparing for war, the werewolves are cursed, and the vampires are, once again, rebuilding, and MJ now qualifies as two of those species.
