2100. A mysterious ship, nicknamed the Chimera, appears in Martian airspace. It bears the symbol of the international space agency, the BASE, but there is no record of such a vessel. Word and rumour quickly spread. BASE investigator Leanne Ziegler is sent to inspect the ship and make contact with its crew. But the Chimera seems completely deserted, other than the imperious AI caretaker, Valkyrie. Down in the fledging Nerio colony on Mars, suspicion grows. The colonists are already turning against the ways of the BASE, creating their own Martian identity. This potential security threat could prove to be the final rift between Earth and Mars. Trying to keep control of the political situation, Nerio sends a mysterious and cold liaison, Ryan, to aid Leanne. But, in ten days, Mars will turn her guns on the Chimera. Leanne and Ryan must work quickly to discover the secret of the ship - and decide whether its fate under the Martian guns is deserved. [ONC 2024 entry]

Arche Felion looked at Icarus Melgren the same way he viewed the stars on their rooftops-the same as Daedalus' Icarus viewed the sun-with adoration and pining for something beyond the mundane and something so out of reach. But like his winged namesake, Icarus Melgren should have known better than to fly too close to a sun, for Arche, the moon, was far more graspable than any star in the sky. -a novelette- -a Literary Lounge Gen 3 2022 Entry-

What would you trade your soul for? The answer is simple for Jessa: nothing. Life isn't perfect, but it's pretty good with her best friend Taylor at her side. But everything changes when the Devil--disguised as an attractive high school girl--comes to town. Soon Jessa--the girl with absolutely no experience with love--finds herself doing the unthinkable: trying to set up the fallen angel with heartthrob Billy Stevens. It's easier said than done, and in the resulting chaos, the lines between friend and foe, good and evil, begin to blur. Jessa starts to wonder: Is the Devil truly her friend? Who is worthy of love? And what, exactly, does Jessa want? All is fair in love and war. - - - A genre-bending tale that's one part teen fiction, one part paranormal/fantasy, and one part slow burn romance! It's March in Lake Wonder, and something is in the water. It's not Bill Gates or fluoride, though. It's something else. It's something more dead-- and much more deadly. Tiff is a high school senior who is dealing with everything from her Bigfoot obsession to her best friend moving to the Fae World. If there's one thing she needs, it's a distraction from her impending graduation and the opening night of a school musical she's doing light work for. Denny also needs a distraction-- mostly from an anniversary she doesn't want to think about. Working as a janitor and sometime-assistant coach, spending time with her friends, and involuntarily turning into a wolf in the woods can really only do so much to keep her mind off of it. It's good for the both of them, then (and bad for the rest of the town) when something enters the water supply and a rash of illnesses, accidents, and weird deaths takes over the town. Who is Despina Worth and what happened to her? Why is there blue ectoplasm in the sinks at the high school? Why is slightly-renowned podcaster Suzette Sweet interviewing Tiff's aunt? What's with Denny's friend Jessie's cousins? And, most importantly, will the Mop Wizard ever make an appearance before the author inevitably gives up? Something's in the water. Maybe it's someone. (Quick note from the author: There's going to be a lot of weird and potentially bad stuff in this. At the time of writing this note, there's a lot of mentions and depictions of drownings, teen deaths, vomit, abuse and neglect, gore and violent deaths, and probably a few other things that are slipping my mind. Just keep that in mind, going into this.)

Lucy Schraan isn't just nervous about dating someone - she's positively datephobic. When she comes out to her over-involved nerd friends, though, they convince her that her time has come: Lucy Schraan is going to find a partner. (Probably.) *** When Lucy comes out as pansexual to her close friends - a group of AP-taking, theatre-loving nerds - they're not surprised. (Surprisingly.) In fact, they want to help her find a partner. There are a plethora of cute girls in her arts school, like Ash Kagawa in her APUSH class and thespian queen Lia LaFollette, and Gene Mann from her required gym credit has weirdly nice forearms. (Like, nice-nice.) Lucy is terrified of dating, though. She's comfortable playing other people, experimenting with different parts and different lives. Living her own life? Absolutely terrifying. *** Picture "YOU DON'T LIVE HERE" by Robyn Schneider meets "THE UPSIDE OF UNREQUITED" by Becky Albertalli. ***UPDATES EVERY FRIDAY. PROBABLY.

Vic thinks she has it all figured out. She's on track to graduate in a week and she is determined to have a great time with her friends (and some girl from her calculus class) until graduation day, when they'll all grow up a little bit and move on from the trap that is Cape Hux. And then Scotty gets abducted by aliens. After searching the stars and the internet for months, Vic thinks she has a clue about how to get him back. The issue is, more and more people are going missing around Cape Hux, including her friend Connor-- and only she knows the truth of how to stop it. With the help of the Girl from Seat 2B (who she still does not know the name of) and Leo (a pompous jackass of a young man), Vic sets out on a bit of a romp through the surrounding area, looking for clues, aliens, and, as luck would have it, a name for what's going on between herself and the Girl from Seat 2B.
