Basically this starts when Dimitri leaves Rose. 'Love Fades. Mine has.' But he doesn't come back. Instead he attempts to fall in love with Tasha. But he can't. However in six years he comes back .Only to find out that Rose has adopted a little red headed Moroi named Maggie. Maggie's parents who turned strigoi and Rose was sent on a rescue mission to save Maggie. Once she found the baby she was healed from Dimitri's burns. Maggie becomes her life. But when Dimitri comes back he sees the family he has really been longing for. Will Rose take him back? You'll have to read it.

Her boyfriend, Jesse Zeklos, takes her out for dinner one night to apologise for 'accidentally' hitting her, while there eating Rose says something that infuriates Jesse more causing him to scare her and she flees out of the restaurant. Somewhere down the road she sits down on a bench and lets all of her emotions out, a young, certain Russian sees her crying and, being the gentlemen he is, tries to comfort her. Rose finds herself opening up to Dimitri and he lets her stay at his apartment for the night so she doesn't have to see Jesse.
