Jude Duarte is the Queen of Faerie, but few people know that. Married in secret then banished to the mortal realm, Jude has to find her footing again. She knows what she wants. She wants retribution. She wants what is rightfully hers. She wants a few other things she shouldn't want. More than anything, she wants to go back. But before she can return to Faerie, its High King finds her. And neither Jude nor the rest of the world is entirely prepared for Cardan.

This fanfiction takes place in a period between the "Wicked King" and "Queen of Nothing" books by Holly Black (And so it should be known that all of the characters are hers). While we know what Jude was doing when spending her time in exile, no one really knows what Cardan, the person responsible for it, was doing. This story is my personal take on what could've transpired, including when he wrote letters to Jude, told from Cardan's very own point of view.
