The Royal Agreement

The morning started as beautiful as it could of.
The sun was cresting the horizon, washing her property in shades of pale rose-gold. The town had just started to rise, but the people had yet to pollute the air with noise. The sight filled Jane with a physical warmth, despite the slight chill to the air.
All was quiet and peaceful.
But Jane's life was as far from a fairytale as one could get.
She'd lost her parents at 15, found love and lost it by 20, and was now a single mother to a (beautiful) stubborn four-year-old baby girl. At 22, life had finally started to simmer down -- and then he returned.
An incredibly arrogant -- and probably too handsome -- wolf, inside and out, Prince Lucas was hardly anything else. He'd been a monarch floating on the outside of his kingdom for far too long, and the people (though fascinated) couldn't care less about him.
He'd need approval -- and a queen -- before he could take the throne.
Problems lead to arrangements, which lead to war. But of what kind?
