Volume 3 • Beginning with Round 166 - 3 January 2021 Wayfarer's Lamppost Book Club is created in partnership with the Next Big Recognition Contest (NBR). Wayfarer's Lamppost Book Club is designed to complement the Next Big Recognition Contest by providing weekly feedback, resulting in the member's entire book being read and commented on by a partner over many weeks. Moreover, Wayfarer's Lamppost aims to provide what no other book club has done-feedback on character arcs and plot progression across the entire book. We seek primarily adult membership, but we will consider high school students with a proven track record in other clubs as well as quality writing and good reviewing skills. Except for Random, Non-Fiction, and Poetry, all genres and ratings are welcome, provided the stories meet Wattpad's content guidelines.

A race of human beings with horrific ancestry, an Empire's conquest of a faraway island, a man's search for divinity. Here lies Gehenna, here lie the damned. ***This novel contains mentions of violence, murder, rape & suicide -- Reader Discretion Advised*** Author's Note: Growing up with shows like Supernatural and Black Butler, reading novels like Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, and most importantly reading the Bible the full way through, I've gotten extremely fascinated by the esoteric aspects of Christian mythology and Biblical lore. This story is inspired heavily by such Christian motifs and symbolism, specifically the Nephilim and the Book of Enoch. The setting of the story, rather than being the modern world, is instead the Age of Discovery. The reason being that, this era - the early 16th century, was a tumultous period when Christianity was spread via the early colonial Empires, and much of it involved horrific tales of the Inquisition and subjugation of conquered peoples. What better a place, then, for a novel inspired by Christian mythology than such a period? ----------------------------------------------------------- Highest Tag Rankings: 1st in #thought-provoking --- November 22nd, 2022 2nd in #cosmichorror --- September 30th, 2022 3rd in #lovecraftian --- September 8th, 2022 3rd in #biblical --- January 19th, 2023
