"...if you wonder why I'm smiling, it's because I'm happy with you." as he softly sang, I could feel my eyes well up with tears, I tried blinking them back but it was no use, once the flood gates open, it is difficult to close. Still looking into my eyes, he whispered the three worded phrase I adore coming from his mouth, "I love you..."

Something happened to Cassidy, breaking her trust she had in her loved ones. She finds herself trapped in a world of pain and fear until a certain someone walks into her life. At first she puts up fights, building her walls high to protect herself, but He came along and broke it down. They find themselves developing a bond that is called love. Once they agree on a relationship, Cassidy finds out news that has her building that walls again. Cassidy tries distancing herself from him, but it becomes difficult when she only sees the promise of love and protection in his eyes. When he is away on the business Cassidy builds up the courage to tell him her story, but when he comes back things does not go as plan. Blinded by anger, he accuses and insults her leaving her broken. He leaves to clear his mind, but when he comes back he finds her in a hospital bed.

Our story isn't your typical love story where you see in the movies or read on books, where two opposite sex meet up with a simple bump and eventually develop feelings with each other. Because OUR story is way different and probably a lot worse than that. We didn't start with a simple bump, because the guy actually hit me. And by "hit" I mean really hit by his car. Yeah, I know. Our meeting wasn't exactly what you can call destiny or coincidence, but rather a PURE ACCIDENT. Like, literally. "You're lucky you didn't give my car a scratch." He told me while giving me a deadly glare. He threw dollars at me to "fix myself up" and stormed out far away from my sight. And that ladies and gentlemen was when I first experienced a hit and run crime. Well not really. But close enough.
