Before the world went to hell, Cassidy "Cass" Ramos lived fast, fought hard, and loved harder-even if she never said it out loud. A firefighter with paramedic training, Cass had always run toward the flames. She had a reputation in Austin for being tough, fearless, the kind of woman who never backed down. But to the Miller family, she was something more. Tommy called her his ride-or-die. Sarah adored her-looked up to her like the older sister she never had. And Joel? Joel was the quiet ache in her chest she never figured out how to silence. They danced around each other for years, pulled together by something deeper than friendship, but always stopping just short. Even Sarah used to joke, "Just kiss her already, Dad." Then came the outbreak. Then came Sarah's death. Cass tried to hold Joel together as the world fell apart, but he started slipping away-and with him, any piece of hope she had left. For ten years, they tried to survive together, tried to build something from the wreckage. But Joel shut down. And eventually, he shut her out. So she left. She walked away from Joel. From FEDRA. From everything. Out in the wild, Cass became someone else. Hardened. Silent. Dangerous. Survivors started calling her "Red"-a name born from the blood she spilled, the fire in her eyes, and the signature red scarf she never took off. It was simpler that way. No past, no weakness. Just Red. When Marlene found her, she didn't see a broken heart-she saw a weapon. And recruited her. Another decade passes. Then a job comes her way: escort a teenage girl named Ellie to a group of Fireflies. She won't be going alone. Joel Miller is on the job too. Ten years of distance. Ten years of silence. Ten years of buried pain. He's stunned when he sees her. She's furious and confused when she sees him. Together, they'll protect a girl who might be the world's last hope. But can they face the ruins of what they once were-and what they still might be? Season 1 - ??

[WARNING: THIS NOVEL IS R-18] "I love you, despite the danger signs." Abigail is a beautiful oh-so-innocent lady. She is kind and well mannered but she is terminally ill. She knows she will die soon so before she dies, she wants to fulfill her one and only wish - to fall in love. She wants to experience loving someone romantically. But under one strange condition- she wants a man who will not fall in love with her because she doesn't want him to suffer when she's gone. She met Alexander Qinn, the coldhearted and mysterious man. He warns her from the start that he doesn't do love and that he is dangerous. But that made him the perfect man for Abigail. He was exactly the kind of man she was looking for. Their completely different worlds collide, Alexander will start to teach the innocent Abigail about sexual pleasure while Abigail will teach him the joy of doing simple things in life. ... He handed her an egg-shaped, pink vibrator and then returned to his spot. The girl blinked again as she examined, with deep curiosity, the pink egg-shaped thing in her hand. "Don't make me wait. Put it inside," the man ordered and Abi swallowed. Abi had no idea whatsoever as to what this thing was. She had never seen anything like this before. She wanted to ask him what this thing was and what he meant by 'put it inside' but the man was so serious, she was afraid she'd fail the test if she showed him that she didn't even know what this was. "Is this clean?" was what she asked instead and the man half-smiled. "It. Is. Very. Clean." He stressed out every word. Still unsure about what to do, Abi hesitantly looked at him and then in the next second, she put it inside her mouth. ******* ●the cover is not mine. all credit belongs to the artist/owner ******* follow me on instagram @author_kazzenlx

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. The cover was made by @All_AboutAssymetry. A huge thanks to her! Copyright September 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story.
