Luz Noceda loves nature. Every so often she would go to a local forest and just goes hiking for hours at a time at most. She would often stop and admire the scenery. Or encounter a mountain creature. But one of these encounters might just be the best or the most dangerous one of her life. Their meeting leads to an adventure as they try to find the answer to all the stuff that's suddenly happening to them. As they try to find the end to an unfinished history between humans and demons.

Two Noceda sisters. One, a fourteen-year-old girl who struggled to connect with others because of her inability to separate fantasy from reality. The other, a twenty-one-year-old outcast who always picked fights and constantly left the house with no explanation of her whereabouts. Luz just wanted to be understood. Lucía just wanted to be free. The day that their dad passed away was the day everything changed. Now, living in a small town called Gravesfield, the family begun falling apart. Lucía's fights with their mom and the suspensions from school ultimately led to her packing up her bags and leaving six months ago, the only thing left behind being a note that said "I'm making this house worse and worse." When Luz was supposed to be on her way to a Reality Check Summer Camp, she accidentally stumbled across a hidden town called the "Boiling Isles". It was a fresh start, and she chose to stay there and lie to her mom. With both sisters balancing guilt, broken relationships, and their true feelings, everything felt impossible. Lies, secrets, and entire lives were behind hidden from one another, and it was only a matter of time before it all revealed itself. "I'll never be good enough for you," she said.
