Red went to Mt.Silver, staying there for 2 years and when he less expected, being defeated by an apparently unexperienced trainer from Johto. Passing through a crisis, feelings that may have been there for years finally come to light, especially towards his childhood friend and rival, Green.

Green finds Red's diary that he wrote in while he was on his adventure. He discovers Red's thoughts and feelings for him as he reads. What will Green do?

His relationships regarding his friends and family are at an all time low and he wants a reason to smile genuine once more. But he also feels the need to press "reset" on his life. He soon comes down after a trainer has told him that his mother has passed. He meets Green at the funeral, but leaves completely after. A few years after the funeral, Red has silenced everyone, cut off communications (once more) and has shut himself out from the outside world. After a while he goes out, not knowing any social skills and bumps into Green once more.

Red and Green has been rivals ever since childhood. Everything was rivalry between them, eating, sleeping and catching Pokémon. Their friendship may not have been the most pleasant, but they care for each other to an extent. When Red defeated Green out of impulse and inferiority, it shattered Green's hopes and dreams of becoming Champion. He wouldn't speak or even look at Red from that day onwards. Obviously, Red was riddled with unspeakable shame, and fled to Mount. Silver, where he stayed for a full 3 years. One day, Red decided to climb down the mountain for groceries when he bumped into his long lost rival. How would they greet each other? With hatred and resentment? Or with nostalgia?

Red moves into an apartment in Saffron City due to him just getting hired at the Silph Company. Red's secret admirer makes obvious hints to him about how they feel, but Red is too dense to realize it.
