After the first few years he stopped flailing, stopped desperately trying to swim up and breathe. He stopped silently praying that someone would pull him out. When it all comes down to it, Izuku wasn't sure why he was willing to consider Bakugou's words. But, could you really blame him? Maybe, if things had just went a bit different that day, he would have brushed it off like he always does. Truth is, he had been feeling numb for a while. Every insult he would have previously ignored had started to get to him. Years of torture had started to tire him out. Had it really been that bad though? Probably.
