Rarity dates many stallions but she is better than each one of them, and the only pony aware of that is Applejack. When Rarity dates her latest coltfriend, Applejack is more frustrated and angry than before, but her friends believe she is jealous. However, they're not wrong.

After the celebration party Pinkie threw for Starlight Glimmer, everypony went back to their normal lives, but now with the addition of their new friend. Rarity thought everything would stay the same, but she was wrong. The unicorn who believed that was attracted to stallions, noticed herself reacting different towards a certain farm pony that is one of her most important and loved friends. Applejack, being the oblivious mare she is, doesn't realize this, but she does starts to develop some feelings a little bit more complex that friendship when an offer is made from the beautiful unicorn.

Rarity thinks she is straight but she starts liking AppleJack as more than a friend.
