I am insufficient. Well, that's not my name obviously, but that's what my family has decided I am. I'm Julie. I'm 14, about to be 15 years old. I have a twin sister, Jamie. Jamie is an angel. Perfect at everything, and can do no wrong. At least in my family's eyes. And I? I am not perfect. I am a disappointment. Though they've never said that to me outright, I know that's what they truly think. The apparent "last straw" was when Jamie fucked up and I took the fall for it. Now, I'm on my way to live with some of my more distant relatives back in Italy. They're supposed to "put me back in my place." So now I get to go live with 3 Italian Capo's. Sounds like fun right? ------ What happens when Julie gets sent away? And what happens when her relatives receives a girl they had been brought to believe was a troublesome, borderline delinquent teenager, but is actually just a confused, dissociative little girl with a messed up idea of what family really means. And what happens when Julie comes to realise that the people she was living with, weren't all who they said they were?

A world at war. Spies fighting in the shadows. Niko Sapphire, a dedicated young agent of the Quorum, must unravel the sinister plots of a notorious alchemist and his alliance with the Siren kingdom of Lokesha before his homeland is ravaged by a new breed of creature, born of chaos and hellbent on tainting the ocean tides with blood for eternity. *** Doctor Kief Thondial is the deadliest man in the world, or so Niko Sapphire has been told. After surviving a mission that brought him into the heart of the demented alchemists' laboratory of twisted experimentations - a mission that left his best friend dead - Thondial is the last man Niko wants to see. However, fate brings them back together on the tropical island kingdom of Lokesha, ruled by a power-hungry Siren Queen who wishes to use Thondial's expertise to extend her rule for eternity, even at the expense of her own people. Forced to ally himself with the opposition, the enigmatic and beautiful mermaid spy, Skilla Striker of the Tidewielders, Niko must thwart Thondial's plan before the war for dominion over their world shifts in evil's favour. Hunted by the sadistic assassin known as The Unhappy Man and pitted against nature on an island desperate to drown him, Niko will need the full alliance of his wit, charm, and rogueish instincts to defeat Thondial once and for all, but will his lust for revenge risk everything? *** Entered into the 2026 Open Novella Contest Prompt #32 - Two assassins from rival organizations are sent on the same secret mission, only to realize the assignment hides a much bigger truth.

A thousand years ago humans landed on the shores of Clairval, seeking refuge from wars, famines and disaster and forged an uneasy truce with the wild Feysha. No one in the Kingdom of Clairval knows why the Feysha allowed humans to settle along the perimeter of the island, and the only proof that the Feysha even exist are the impassible Wilds in the centre of the island. Verana is about to change that. Feysha but more, she is sent from the Wild to warn the humans that darkness is coming for their island and remind them of the oath both parties swore to protect Clairval from what was to come. There are other powers, other kingdoms across the seas; some of them contain answers long hidden and some of them contain the enemies Verana was born to fight against, but she'll have to forge a truce not seen for a millennia before she can save the world. Violence and fighting. Cover by @whiskeyjanedoe ( part one of book one )

{WATTY'S 2020 WINNER & EDITOR'S PICK.} Hopeless romantic and aspiring writer Mare Atwood has fallen madly in love with her childhood correspondent. There's only one catch-she doesn't know who he is. When the beaus of Star's Crossing return from boarding school to begin the courting season, Mare is determined to uncover the identity of her writer, flout her family's intentions of orchestrating an advantageous marriage, and procure the life of writing and romance she's always sought. But as in the tales she so adores, it won't be easy. Galas, masquerades, picnics, and hunts-alongside an old friend, a former teacher, and an unlikely ally, Mare delves into an investigation that leaves her torn between three clever, deceptive, and wealthy young bachelors. If Mare can confirm which is her writer and claim his hand before the courting season ends, she'll have her wish: the love of her life, a valuable marriage, and a future of writing romance. But with the eyes of Star's Crossing upon her, a business plot forcing invisible hands, and the unwillingness of her writer to come forward-Mare's future may not end in triumph, but tragedy. Set against the gilded Victorian backdrop of coastal Connecticut and lush with pre-war luxury, fans of Jane Austen, Margaret Mitchell, and Louisa May Alcott are sure to enjoy this lighthearted, lyrical novel of young love, independence, and identity. #1 Literary #1 YA Romance #1 Victorian #1 Lyrical #8 General Fiction
