"The Bells" is a heavily onomatopoeic poem by Edgar Allan Poe which was not published until after his death in 1849. It is perhaps best known for the diacopic use of the word "bells." The poem has four parts to it; each part becomes darker and darker as the poem progresses from "the jingling and the tinkling" of the bells in part 1 to the "moaning and the groaning" of the bells in part 4. "The Tell-Tale Heart" is a short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in 1843. It is relayed by an unnamed narrator who endeavors to convince the reader of his sanity while simultaneously describing a murder he committed. The victim was an old man with a filmy "vulture-eye", as the narrator calls it. The narrator emphasizes the careful calculation of the murder, and he hides the body by dismembering it, and hiding it under the floorboards. Ultimately, the narrator's feelings of guilt, or a mental disturbance, result in him hearing a thumping sound, which he interprets as the dead man's beating heart. Cover by the lovely @FayLane.

A Study in Scarlet is a 1887 detective novel by British author Arthur Conan Doyle. Written in 1886, the story marks the first appearance of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, who would become two of the most famous characters in popular fiction. The book's title derives from a speech given by Holmes, an amateur detective, to his friend and chronicler Watson on the nature of his work, in which he describes the story's murder investigation as his "study in scarlet": "There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it." Set in a universe populated by humans, aliens, demons, creatures, robots and androids, and other entities, a universe filled with conflict, corruption, opposing generals and admirals of different backgrounds, deceit, uncontrollable, violent chaos involved with lower tier gangs and mercenaries, both expendable and shadowy background enablers, and largely close to overpopulation, a massive war is growing increasingly difficult by the day. At the heart of it all, one man has a mission to capture the Dark Lord of Power pulling the strings. For years, the Master, an extremely powerful and vicious, if not malignant, entity and Shadow God otherwise known as DART VESSEL, would lure those he deemed unworthy into his Gactic Chambers, and with only one thing in mind each time: he sought to eradicate all those tricked into entering, from their very existence, in the ensuing chaos absorbing their powers in the hopes of growing immortal. Merely a pawn in a larger game, each and every one of them unsuspecting and vulnerable. None of them stood a chance. Merciless, unpredictable, and practically unstoppable. Until.. One day, when the resistance led a fight that brought with them perhaps the most heroic of all their fighters, the intelligent warrior, the swift and cunning, the brave but wise VICE MERSIDISI, whose only goal was to capture the malevolent VESSEL, and know of all their secrets, finally ending the largest part of this growing universal conflict. Once gained, disposal of this Lord may be the only option. But time has shown and history has proven that you can only keep him prisoner for so long. And should you choose the route which leads to unadulterated bloodshed, you might only get one shot as is. For VESSEL, his powers can be tamed - they cannot be taken, and what's more is... they have never been weakened.

"This book speaks to anyone with a neurodivergent brain, that may feel like an alien here on earth. I swear Browning made me laugh and cry and question reality...sometimes all in the same sentence." -JD Todd, author The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it. Potto is dim-witted, extremely forgetful and incredibly naïve. He wasn't always this way. Aye-Aye is devilishly shrewd and has boozed his way into a comfortable existence of incompetence and sleaze. How they ended up being two of the most wanted aliens in the galaxy is anyone's guess. Chased down by every oddball bounty hunter in the known universe, and befriended by a libidinous assassin, a fire-breathing reptilian, and a telepathic tree, their misadventures take them past Earth (the mall planet), to a floating sex circus, a planet of killer stuffed animals, an underground spaceship impound lot, and to a planet of reasonably priced bungalows. All while flying around in a ship powered by the brain waves of a psycho killer. A great prophecy proclaims that only "one of light, and one of dark" can save the universe from the dictatorship of The Node. That can't be Potto and Aye...Potto doesn't know what the word prophecy means, and neither know how to spell it. Part sci-fi epic, part absurd dark comedy, I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room is a comment on human behavior, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. But way more fun than that sounds. So, do up your space seatbelts...it's going to be a bumpy ride. Despite the lack of potholes in space. (Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed! Enjoy!
