Miraculous Ladybug is a show with fundamental issues and its canon origin for the characters does not escape from being problematic. So out of my disappointment, and with a sprinkle of inspiration, I rewrote the origin story into something I think would be more enticing as a show. And in the process of rewriting the origins, a new story enfolds entirely. Titled "Bonds Beyond Fate" instead of "Ladybug," I wanted to highlight that the story is about more than just Marinette, but also about everyone involved in these fateful, tangled situations.
