'It was a wonderful night, the kind of night that can perhaps only happen when we are young, dear reader.' With this sentence, Dostoyevsky opens his story of an incipient love that arises from the chance encounter between the lonely narrator and the young Nastenka. Over four nights, the two reveal their fears and longings to each other. But Nastenka's heart belongs to someone else. Dostoyevsky's 'sensitive novel' tells of unfulfilled love in a moving and sensitive way.

Returning Now. This book ruined my life. Fucking ruined it. But it was so worth every tear, every bad day, every night up, and every friend I lost. Because this book may be fictional, but it's all too real. "It all began with an unexpected kiss behind a banquet hall at semi-formal. Virvanna believed she had everything planned out. Step one was easy- Get Hot. Step two became tricky- get your elementary school-yard bully (and most popular guy in High School) to fall for you. Step 3 was becoming harder every day- don't catch feelings. Through a turbulence of secret hook-ups and sneaking out to parties, mixed with shaking up the social hierarchy and questioning the impending patriarchy, Virvanna has less control than she THINKS over how her Metamorphosis will go. Can the newbie butterfly survive the cold winter winds of junior year?" From friends, to boyfriends, to hair, to clothes, to new kids, to adventures... Everything is changing. Or is it? Notes from Underground, also translated as Notes from the Underground or Letters from the Underworld, is an 1864 novella by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Notes is considered by many to be one of the first existentialist novels. It presents itself as an excerpt from the rambling memoirs of a bitter, isolated, unnamed narrator (generally referred to by critics as the Underground Man) who is a retired civil servant living in St. Petersburg. The first part of the story is told in monologue form, or the underground man's diary, and attacks emerging Western philosophy, especially Nikolay Chernyshevsky's What Is to Be Done? The second part of the book is called "Apropos of the Wet Snow" and describes certain events that appear to be destroying and sometimes renewing the underground man, who acts as a first person, unreliable narrator and anti-hero
