Born to two hardworking immigrant parents, their tight-knit sibling bond has gotten them through everything. Now, however, she is beginning to resent the domineering attitudes of her brothers, especially the eldest-Felix. Felix has blurred the lines between parent and sibling and dictates her everyday life. She's not allowed to date, not allowed to dress a certain way, and can barely go anywhere without one of her brother's supervision. What the boys believe is out of love and consideration for her wellbeing and her future, is the driving force behind Lydia's desire to rebel. When Damon Rodriguez, the bad boy in school, shows a special interest in Lydia, she is tempted to disobey her family and dive into her first real relationship. A tragic occurrence followed by a silver lining allows Lydia some breathing room to explore the new romance. But every action has a consequence, and now Lydia has found herself in a web of lies she can't seem to see herself out of. Friendships, relationships, and sibling bonds are all put to the test.
