We all think we are free till we learn the truth. We look and see what others have or what they use to have. We then realize freedom is a facade, we have no true understanding of freedom, it is a word used to make you feel grateful you don’t have it worse than others. One is not truly free until they cut all ties and fight as though they have nothing to lose, to spit in the face of consequence and live without fear of retribution from those controlling the world. That is true freedom. I lacked the knowledge to realize that at the time, I believed everything I was told and truly believed they cared about my well being and would never harm me. I never knew they were the cause of the war. This is the truth, this is my story, this is our revolution.
