At the end of the 75th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen blew out the force-field of the Quarter Quell arena with an arrow and a willingness to survive. With her fiery spirit and unique gift of archery, she willed the districts to rebel against the Capitol. Twenty years before, another tribute had a similar goal. ------------------------------------------ Fifteen-year-old Cassia never asked for her life. She never asked to be born in poverty in the middle of a semi-rich District Seven, nor scorned for her family's origins in the Capitol. Her only comforts are her parents and two siblings, and the peace and resources that only the redwood forest around her provides. She knows that when times are hard, she has people to whom she can turn to, and get her out of trouble, no matter how deep. When Cassia is reaped for the 55th Hunger Games, she is not prepared for the responsibility of getting out alive- especially when her district partner is someone she loves dearly. As old acquaintances reappear and mysterious new faces begin to take an interest in her, Cassia must question her ability, identity, and sanity- and how much she's willing to protect in a dangerous three-week game of life or death. -------------------------------------- A shout-out to @ThatBlondeSlytherin for making my cover! Also: DO NOT STEAL MY WRITING. I HAVE BEEN WRITING THIS OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL YEARS, AND THEREFORE IS WORK MADE BY ME. Plagiarism doesn't show your hard work, creativity, or integrity. If you do see someone trying to reproduce my book, report it and tell me. I'd very much appreciate it. Warning: I try to write chapters with the length of novel chapters. The chapters in this book happen to be long. If this is a problem for you, don't read this; or try to clear a space in your schedule for reading beforehand. Just a heads-up.

You may think you know me. To you, I might be District 2's Prodigy, or maybe I'm the Captiol's spoiled ambassador. But to most, I'm violent, blood thirsty, menacing, and murderous. My only hope to change all that is to volunteer for the games. My only goal is to save someone. Someone who needs to go back home to their family. Someone who their family needs. But who? It's a lot more complicated then it seems. Because you don't know who you can trust. But I'll give you a hint: Not me. Why? Because I may not be who you think I am.

When Aiden left Bailey a year and a half ago she was just his shy nerdy best friend. They would spend every day together, tell each other their deepest secrets and vowed they’d never let anything come between them for as long as they lived. However Aiden’s sudden move changed all of that. Once Bailey realizes she no longer has her support system and can’t get by just being Aiden’s quiet little best friend anymore she knows it’s time for a change. And what better way to make a change than be the change. Away with those thick brown unnecessarily large glasses and braces and let’s not forget the baggy wardrobe and in with new stuff. After a complete makeover and change in social status Bailey is no longer that shy quiet girl. No she is the “it girl.” But can popularity and new clothes change who you were on the inside completely? According to Bailey though, she doesn’t even know that girl anymore so maybe it can. Life was pretty much perfect….well almost. How can be anymore when her best friend shows back up expecting to find the girl he’d left a couple of years ago? Now with Aiden in the same house next door that they grew up in and looking as good as ever it does nothing short of throwing her through a loop. How will this affect her new found status as Ms. Popular? And can she keep it up with Aiden back again? Who knows but he’s sure not gonna make it easy on her. Not when he wants back the girl he used to know.
