Karna, an unsung warrior, known by many names. Vasusen, Suryaputra, Danveer, Radheya, Vrisha Vijayadhari and Vaikartana, he had many names but only one purpose, to prove to the world that a person should be known for his karma not by birth. This story is my take on the story of karna, my favourite hero. This is only a fanfiction not the original Mahabharata. it is not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings, please read this with an open mind. Duryodhan....was he ever Duryodhan, wasn't he Suyodhan at a point of time, where his mind was free from Gandharaj Shakuni's influence. Deep down he buried Suyodhan under the rocks of hatred, vengeance and spite. The only ones who ever got to see suyodhan again were his mitr Karn, Mitr Ashwathama, his beloved priye Bhanumati. He was just a misunderstood warrior in the End who lacked proper guidance. Karn, Vasusen, the sutputr, he never considered himself suryaputra even after the truth, he was always sut putra, he was always Radhey Karn, Adhirath putr Karn. All he ever wanted was to follow his passion, a messed up way but he wanted to learn his thirst was knowledge can never be quenched. Karn was an antihero all because he chose the side of Adharm, who cares about Adharma, when his mitr needed him. In the end his death was also the result of proper guidance. Ashwathama, Daruni, the shiv ansh, all he ever craved was for acceptance, from his father. He felt insulted and humiliated as his father chose Arjun over him. It was always Arjun this, Arjun that. His sense of deep rooted hatred was understood only by his Mitr Duryodhan. He lost his sanity when both his best friends died, he lost his sanity when he saw all his nephews die, he lost his sanity when nieces also died performing Sati. That is why in the end he too ended up getting cursed due to lack of proper guidance. The Great Kurukshetra could have been prevented if only there was someone to guide these three best friends who would lose their sanity if even one of them is not present.

Yet the questions remained. Endless. Relentless. If Kunti was his mother... Then who was he? Who exactly was Karna? And why did fate choose now to reveal the answer? or, Karna found out the truth way before he was supposed to, maybe fate wanted to stop the disaster that will occur to the kuru vamsh.

"If only I had k...known" Duryodhan mumbled, lying in a pool of blood. There was no one else around, except for Vasudev Krishn. Duryodhan's eyes spoke volumes. His lips quivered as his thighs were broken. "If only I had known," he thought again, his life flashing before his own eyes. Vasudev Krishn looked on, "I'm sorry Duryodhan, I tried" he looked down, His eyes filled with tears. Duryodhan forwarded his hands, gently touched his feet and looked up , unable to speak anymore, only his eyes looked into His. The words of his heart began to reach Krishna's ears. As Duryodhan neared his death, he preferred not to close his eyes, rather keep it open, to give a final adieu to the protector of worlds. NOTE : THIS IS PURELY IMAGINARY.
