Ever since her first lesson at the ranch, she has been best friends with Erin, a horse loving girl and a star on the volleyball team. Her life is perfect, until her grandma starts showing signs of Alzheimer's disease, and her parents decide to move to Florida. She decides to run away with her favorite horse, Misty, in the middle of the night hoping to prove a point to her parents to let her bring Misty with them down south. She plans to return the next day but when tragedy strikes, she has to depend on Misty to lead her home and protect her.
