With the Renegades appeased, Ruby and her friends begin to recover from the post battle trauma. Team RWBY have temporarily disbanded to fulfill their own training and their path of healing. Ozpin has assigned Ruby and her team to act as bodyguards to Miss Beatrice Froste, Ruby's Godmother, as she leads them on an expedition to three islands. But another seeks out these islands as well, with foreboding intentions. Can Team RWBY manage to put a stop to them?

Months ago, the weather in all of Vacuo suddenly came to a halt. No desert heat and no rain falling from the sky. Team JNPR set off with Qrow Branwen as their patron to Vacuo on a mission to assist a group of meteorologists. Their goal is to research and discover why the weather halted. Ruby ran away from home by her family, who neglected her dream of becoming a Huntress. Ruby was eventually saved by the Legendary Giant, Regigigas, and trains her to become a Huntress.
