Because Killua, before learning of colors, was taught to fade into- to become- the darkness. Then Gon had arrived, bringing with him a plethora of yellows and blues and green- so much green- and Killua lost sight of the darkness. For a moment, it receded into the background. But only for a moment. Killua didn't want to lose his memories of the colors, but he did wonder if things would have been easier if he'd just gone along with the life laid out before him. The fear of losing the colors was what made them painful in the first place, but Killua couldn't help it. Once he'd seen them, he could never forget, even as their absence reverberated through his soul. The rain was grey. Soft, and light, but grey. A different shade than the one he'd grown up with, but still, grey had always brought him so much suffering. Would it stop, if he stopped struggling against it? In any case, Killua's world had disappeared, in the rain, and when he'd opened his eyes, the rain was bluer than he remembered. Pellets creating a barrage instead of droplets that melted on his cheeks. For a while, he returned to the shadows. When he finally emerged, he heard whispers of heroes and villains, of vigilantes. Of quirks. Killua knew far too much for his age, yet at the same time, far too little. But one thing he did know was that he did not want glory, he did not want fame or money. Killua wanted the colors, the fun, the laughter. And he'd do anything to get it. Now, remember one thing: Killua Zoldyck is not a villain. Nanika sends Killua and Gon into the mha universe to hide from the Zoldyck's. As they try to fit in this new world, suspicions start to slowly arise. Killua wants to keep his past a secret and live a normal life in this new world, but will that be the case? Can Gon keep both of their secrets? But more importantly.... It was so hard not to snap at anybody. People calling him 'useless' people calling him 'weak' but there was nothing he could do about it. He was by far the strongest person in this classroom right now, and he wasn't allowed to show it. He had to change his appearance to escape, even his personality. What was worse is that he was stuck in a hero school. He had to try to be a good guy, which he wasn't trained how to do. Killua had accepted a mysterious power for some reason, he broke his bones every time he used it. The only upside was that he could have immense power and everybody could see it. Thankfully the broken bones didn't hurt much because if his training though. "today we will be doing internships" he groaned inwardly, he would have to make a good impression on whoever he was going to. "and one more thing" he glanced up with a fake intrigued expression, he usually pretended to listen in class and instead practice ren or something. "there is hostage situation that none of the pros can deal with, they're deciding to send some of you to attempt it"

He, Gon, and Alluka were walking through Yorknew when suddenly the ground started to warp and disintegrate below him. "Killua!" Gon shouted, reaching for him. "stay back! Go get help!" Alluka nodded, backing away. Gon however, didn't listen and they both fell together into a large dark hole. His head started to spin and he couldn't feel anything except for Gon as he clenched tightly to his arm. Killua angled himself so he was falling on his back with Gon on top of him, he didn't know where they were going to land but when they did Killua would protect him with his life. Where are we going? There was a thump and he could suddenly see, Gon was clutching him tightly and snow was falling all around them. He braced himself as the impact came, it rattled his body and he felt blood trickle through his shirt. "Gon are you alright?"

At the end of Greed Island Gon and Killua use their accompany card to "Nigg" and while Gon goes to Kite, Killua is transported elsewhere. More specifically, the another universe that we know by the name of My Hero Academia or Boko No Hero Academia. Can Killua go back to his world? Or even see his best friend again?
