However, working in such a field doesn't completely keep her from interacting or coming close to the animals she fears so much, especially when she's sent on an expedition along with some explorers to an uninhabited island to research and discover new species of plants and animals as well as search for an elusive and highly venomous serpent that is said to inhabit the strange isle. It also doesn't help when their helicopter suddenly malfunctions and the group ends up crash-landing in the middle of a dense jungle with no way of contacting the outside world for help. and to make things worse for poor Lyra, something seems to be stalking her in this new and unfamiliar environment. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.

I want to start by saying that this book is heavily inspired by the book Prey (Male!Naga x Male!Reader) written by A-Lusk. I binge read their book and I thought the idea was amazing, the writing was amazing, I basically stayed up all night reading. So after reading, I kinda wanted to create my own story based around a Naga and human, but the idea for this book originated from A-Lusk and their work and I highly recommend reading their book, it's honestly become one of my favorite books on Wattpad currently and I feel that if you're into the idea you should 100% read it. Ever since the dawn of humanity, humans have been curious about their world and everything that exists in it. People learn and study and share their findings with others so that everyone has a larger base of knowledge. What people were unable to explain, however, would become fantastical creatures of fantasy, and as centuries passed those creatures were classified as mythology. Yet, all mythology is derived from some fact. So when scientists discover the bones of what seemed to once be a dragon, the search began to discover any other specimens that were once thought of as myth. It's what led to the discovery of an island that was rightfully named Nagaraja that sits in the Arabian Sea near Southwest of India. Scientists jumped at the opportunity to explore the island, but the Indian government, who has claim over the island hasn't allowed anyone near the unknown terrain. Yet that doesn't seem to stop some from finding ways around that specific fact. So, when Biologist Dr. Simon Molt drags his assistant, Botanist Jasper Rhodes, to that one such island, they both find out it has more than they bargained for.
