Hob Gadling was affected by the sleepy sickness. He hasn't slept for over a century and is looking for someone to blame. One night, when he is finally able to dream he finds himself face to face with an old friend he thought had forgotten him.

After getting stood up on Valentine's Day and left in one of the most romantic restaurants in the city alone, he is ready to give up. Of course that's before a random stranger seats himself down in the adjacent seat across from him and practically saves his life.
