In an AU LGBTQ+ accepting Camelot, anybody can love anybody. King Arthur throws a Ball to try and find a romantic companion among his kingdom to make his Queen or King Consort. His manservant Merlin is overrun with chores, but finds a way to attend, though he's too embarrassed to go as himself. In disguise he sets a fire in Arthur's heart, who must discover the identity of the mysterious masked man. (I do not own the characters or the photo used for the cover)

Just a cute little Merthur fic, Arthur confesses his love for Merlin over a dinner he'd prepared and they spend the the night together (basically full of fluff!) More than 1,000 years after Arthur's death, Merlin is still waiting for his King's return. He waits in an abandoned, yet fully decorated observatory on the shore of the Lake of Avalon. An observatory that he has decorated to his heart's content, a place truly fit for a King. He couldn't wait for the day that Arthur would see it.

When Merlin had arrived within earshot, Arthur asked: "What took you so long?" "I'm sorry, sire." Arthur frowned, he had been waiting for a sarcastic reply from his friend but Merlin's answer was anything but that. Now he noticed how Merlin didn't look at his direction and his usual smiling was gone. "What happened?" Arthur asked with low tone. "Nothing." When Merlin still didn't look at him, he grabbed his friend's arm trying to get his attention. Merlin lifted his gaze, now surprised by the sudden touch. Their eyes met and Arthur saw a sadness in his friend's eyes. ____ Merlin was the prince of Airasan until the whole kingdom was taken and he had to flee. Now he's at Camelot as a manservant but what happens when some knights of Airasan come to seek for help to get their kingdom back. Is Merlin ready for his destiny? And what about his other destiny? Merlin dies for a bit at the end of the series instead of Arthur.

Arthur had always thought that he was lucky like he had some sort of guardian angel. He never thought that the guardian angel watching over him was his clumsy oaf of a servant, Merlin.
