Yaşlı adam sıkıntıyla bir nefes alarak bizlere baktı. "Aslında hepiniz aynı çocuk yurdunda bir zamanlar kaldınız. Peşinde olduğumuz biri var ve o yurttaki otuz çocuğu damgaladı. Şimdi yeniden ortaya çıktı ve Yarasaları bulup hepsini öldürüyor." Sanırım Yarasalar biz oluyorduk. "Bizimle işbirliği yapmak zorundasınız, tabii yaşamak istiyorsanız?" Masadakilere döndü.
