Vincent had always been straight. Hell, with a demanding father, a homophobic bestfriend, an African household, and his 'if I ignore it, it doesn't exist' behavior towards his mental health issues, he just had to be. But between a risqué dare at the pool with his bestfriend, a fit tattoo artist who is constantly trying to get him under the sheets to show him a whole new world, and a hot and cold swim team captain who there is definitely more to than meets the eye, will he be able to remain standing on his ever crumbling platform of hetero-normalcy? Follow him as he helps his best friend navigate the consequences of wealth, teach a tattoo artist that even ink, with time, will fade, and coach a professional swimmer on the art of drowning.

When a predator targets a lonely young girl, eight strangers can either fight to stop him, or face the wrath of the spirit that tied their fates together. Is life a series of random events, or are we all connected by invisible threads of fate? Well, in the town of Gossamer Loom, the answer is complicated... and also pretty disturbing. Local legend speaks of the Weaver, a wild spirit that threads the lives of the townsfolk together. Once you pass through Gossamer Loom, your fate becomes a thread in her tapestry. Her "web." And when a lonely young girl meets a dangerous man at the edge of town, she and seven others are suddenly drawn into the Weaver's web, connected by nightmares and uncanny coincidences that pull them into each other's lives. As their bond grows, the Octagon is formed. Leslie, Josiah, Ivy, Coop, Willy, Jane, Eli, and Caroline will either accept their fates, or suffer the dire consequences of denying the Mother of the Spiders. Octagon has eight parts, called "threads," and there are eight chapters per thread (64 chapters total). Each chapter in Octagon has a corresponding "Formation Song." That is, each chapter has a corresponding song that I listened to for inspiration as I wrote it. The songs are listed at the top of each thread.

After hundreds of years of chaos there is finally peace. Humans are now grown in a lab, crafted with perfect, compliant genes as a way of preserving control. With the GROWN program, war, pollution, and death are easily snuffed out by planning who people are and what they grow up to be. The only problem that remains is the rebellion, a small kindling from the old world that refuses to be extinguished. Lane was confiscated by the Council at the age of eight due to being a natural born human. She has spent the past sixteen years learning the ways of the GROWN and being rewired to fit in seamlessly with her lab developed counterparts. Because of her successes in training, Lane has been selected to be an Extinguisher, one of the most dangerous jobs in the Council. This team is sent back to the time before the GROWN program to track down the family of rebellion members and assassinate them to keep the rebellion isolated in the past and eradicate it in the present. While struggling to prove herself worthy of such a position to her superior officer, Lane grapples with her own doubts if becoming one of the GROWN and serving the Council is the right thing to do, or just the best for self-preservation. She soon learns that the past is always doomed to repeat itself if power remains the ultimate motivator. ** Story in progress. I will most likely be updating on Friday or Saturday**
