Margot Roth is trying to get her life back together. After a dramatic "breakup" with her best friend Lizzy, Margot wants nothing more than to get back to normal, whatever that is. When school starts up in the Fall, Margot is looking forward to a quiet semester. And then, she meets Vincent Day, a struggling student with a quick wit who begs Margot to tutor him. The only problem is that Vincent Day is Lizzy's boyfriend. Now Margot is thrown back into the past she's been trying to forget and this forces her to confront her inner demons. And to make matters worse, Margot is starting to have feelings for her newest student. Throughout the novel, Margot learns what it means to be "normal" and how to move forward.
