Theodore Bancroft is intelligent, despite what some may think, but he has never had the respectability that an investor needs. He needs a wife to bolster his rakish image. A perfect wife. Adelaide Kingsley is perfect. Her one imperfection - getting caught in the Haversham gardens with Theodore Bancroft - is entirely by design. Not only does it get her out of her impending engagement to the odious Lord Greeling, but it also wins her the only thing she has never known: freedom. Her marriage to Theodore is more than convenient. It is a space for her to find herself for the first time in her life. Somewhere along the way, she starts to wonder if convenience has turned into love. Then, she finds her husband in a passionate embrace with another woman. NOTE: HEA between OG couple. Trigger Warnings: Dark themes surrounding sexuality, cheating, revenge cheating, questions of sexuality during an oppressive era, some domestic violence, and scenes of BDSM/control in a sexual context, depictions of disordered eating.

Sweet, ambitious, and studious, Davina Benoit has spent her whole life overshadowed by her older sister. Pressured by her parents to follow in her footsteps, Davina enrolls in Rutherford Academy - a prestigious University, where students are classified into rigid categories, meant to define their roles in relationships. Determined to prove herself, Davina cheats on the category placement test, but she soon realizes that her deception has led her somewhere she doesn't belong. Relentless, fierce, and driven, Matthias Laurier has spent years burying his true self beneath a carefully crafted persona. He has no interest in attachments, especially not with someone like Davina-who, unbeknownst to her, is his perfect match in ways neither of them understand. As their connection deepens, Matthias is forced to confront the side of himself he has sworn to keep hidden. In a world that demands labels, can they embrace who they really are before it's too late? The slow burn is burning at a medium heat, so all I ask is a little bit of patience, but if you want to get straight into it, go to chapter X Trigger Warnings * DDLG | BDSM * Physical and mental abuse * extensively written sex scenes Once again, this is a BDSM/DDLG book, if you aren't familiar with those terms, I strongly dissuade from reading With love, Sophie

Nana Aki has spent the last twenty years as a necromancer in the world of magic... unpopular, reclusive, and always alone. One day, while experimenting with a magic circle, she's caught in a strange explosion. When she opens her eyes again, she's in an unfamiliar world. Magic in this new world is weird. It's scattered randomly, and the magical creatures are... hideous. Not only are they impossible to tame, just looking at them feels like a crime against her eyeballs. To survive, Nana makes a bold choice: instead of bonding with local creatures, she'll summon undead companions from this world. Her first summon is a boy with warm eyes and a sunshine smile, the kind who praises her for every little thing. He feels so alive it's easy to forget he's a ghost-until you remember he died young, far too soon. Then comes Fushiguro Anko, a gentle, big-sister type... and the intimidating man who never leaves her side. Tall and broad-shouldered, with a scar tugging at the corner of his mouth, his sharp eyes and constant scowl make him look dangerous. Yet he sticks to Anko like an overprotective shadow - grumbling, glaring, but never letting her out of his sight. Next is a strange man with squinty eyes and a messy bun. He doesn't remember his own name, acts sweet at home, but turns savage in public... calling people "monkeys" and spraying strangers with expensive perfume. Before she knows it, Nana's once-lonely life has become a chaotic, undead found-family sitcom. Everything's going well... Except for one problem: A powerful white-haired man from this world keeps trying to steal her ghosts.

I will be your heart, if you will be my shield. In a world where magic supposedly didn't exist, Serena has spent years struggling to conceal her unpredictable singing magic. While wishing for a peaceful life where she can sing without fear, she sees a man in handcuffs being forced into a shady research center. Their eyes meet, and the soulbond is forged. Darien is not from this world, and he's been held captive for years. With the soulbond amplifying his strength, he can fight his way through almost everything, but not every danger can be fought with fists. Their love draws them together even as power-hungry enemies try to pry them apart. They want to control Darien for their own purposes, but he's too strong to be controlled by force. Their love is their greatest strength-and their biggest vulnerability. But magic has its own rules, and no song can go unanswered. Excerpt: I pitied the man, although with so many cops around him, he was quite dangerous. Who needed 30 police officers to supervise one guy who in handcuffs and leg shackles? I watched him walk down the gauntlet between the rows of officers. It was as if I couldn't look away. He paused and looked around. His brilliant glowing blue eyes seemed to meet mine across the vast distance. I couldn't even blink as his eyes seemed to hold mine. The trees of a park broke our locked gaze as the bus kept on driving. I took a deep breath, suddenly realizing that I had stopped breathing the moment our eyes met. I had never seen such blue eyes before-and they glowed! A shiver ran through me. I had been too far away to make out the color of the man's eyes. My eyes watched the trees, hoping for a break in them so I could see the man again. I had no such luck. --- Fade-to-black action fantasy romance Copyright November 2017. Viktor didn't expect to be abducted by aliens when he went to school one morning, and he certainly didn't expect to be thrown into the alien equivalent of a dog-fighting ring, either. But when fighting for his life quickly becomes his routine, will he be able to muster up the strength to break that mold? Especially when the fate of humanity rests on his shoulders? *** The Vokkrus, a warrior alien species, go to Earth with the intention to 'rescue' the human species from their dying planet. The catch is that they believe humans to be nonsentient and incapable of intelligent thought. They are treated as nothing more than the common animal. They are a commodity, something to fawn over and ogle at. Humanity's strength and stamina are nearly unrivaled on this new planet, and when Viktor is taken to an alien fighting ring, he quickly dominates the competition. Mercy has no place in the arena. When Viktor is adopted by the leader of the Vokkrus, an intimidating alien whose intentions are unclear, he is forced to shed his wariness and convince the alien king to save humanity from his accidental oppression. *** Please don't advertise other stories in the comments! Life is always fun when you never get into trouble for causing mischief. Julie is a pro at keeping her packmates on their toes with her innocent fun. It's a perk of being a Comforter and never losing her puppy-like appearance. Admittedly, there are times when her skills are needed, and she takes her job quite seriously then. She isn't a fighter, but rather, is one who cares for others' hearts. A Comforter. After all, who doesn't want to hug a puppy? But those in need of comfort are often in pain and feel surrounded by darkness. To be a light in someone's world, you will have to walk through the darkness. --------------------- What do most werewolf books have in common? They either focus on mates or on fighting. I decided to try a more unique route. No romance will be found here - this book focuses on the ties of friendship and hope. The near mundane routine of trying to survive daily from the hazardous onslaught of the planet was practically a game to her at this point. Until one day, while drowning because she forgot to refill her oxygen tank while trying to escape a tsunami, as one usually does, a rustle in the water brought about a startling realization. A wholesome love-at-first sight werewolf story where the mate isn't an Alpha, and they actually want to be together. Life as a rogue isn't easy, especially for a runt living in No Man's Land. Jade has gained an impressive set of skills over the years, such as evading ferals, camouflaging her scent, and sniffing out expensive truffles, but few packs want to accept a runt. When she finally gets invited into a pack, she picks up an irresistible scent. Her soulmate. Jade must decide if she's willing to grasp what is likely her only chance at unconditional love - or flee in case her potential mate rejects her and shatters her heart forever. ---- Excerpt: My steps faltered as I noticed that two of the pursuing wolves had sped ahead and were waiting to intercept me. I launched toward a tree and ricocheted off at a ninety-degree angle without slowing down. One of the wolves behind quickly followed and began closing in. I started to panic, looking around frantically for a way to escape. I saw a rabbit burrow under a small bramble bush and desperately raced towards it. I darted under the edge of the plant and heard the tan wolf go around as he expected me to come out the other side. It gave me the precious seconds I needed to squeeze down the tunnel. My relief was short-lived - the rabbit that dug this burrow had not survived long enough to finish it. The tunnel was only about twice as long as the average human arm, and I could clearly see the entrance. I sent a silent prayer that the bramble bush would deter them and that they would not realize just how shallow this burrow was. I waited anxiously.
