The Winter Soldier was confused. He knows who he is, and what H.Y.D.R.A did to him. They took him and stole who he was. He knows he will never be able to be James Buchanan Barnes again, not in the same way. The Winter Soldier wants revenge. He wants to tear the thing that murdered him apart. He wants every agent, every person that ever stepped into H.Y.D.R.A dead. He wants to be the one to pull the trigger, to pull the ring out of the grenade. He doesn't want help, he doesn't need help. But he makes a mistake. He never makes mistakes. But he did. A girl named River. And she pretty much signed him up for a hell lot more pain then he hoped for. He should have pulled the trigger. But he didn't. Maybe James Buchanan Barnes still is alive.
