A Prologue, by The Doctor In this book, you will find an adventure. But I have to admit, it isn't mine. Not anymore. It is my TARDIS, and my fault that that she got caught in all this, but the story is Irene's. When I met Irene, she was sharp witted and rather broken. She cut with her jagged edges, and her mouth had few filters. She reminded me of someone who travelled with me long ago, who turned into a textbook villain. So I watched Irene grow; but instead of growing into evil, she grew into good. The problem is, tumors grow at about the same speed. Cancer wanted her as much as the rest of the world did. Still, she held nothing back. She wrapped me in kindness, and I wrapped her in a cold and endless war. But she's a warrior. So here I sit, on a hospital chair, writing a prologue for a story that has already happened because a girl from small-town Arizona asked me to. Irene is asleep. When I was three, I lost my first tooth. I looked up at my ceiling, slowly falling asleep, excited for what the tooth fairy might bring. I woke up that morning, and found that the tooth fairy brought me a peculiar looking key. I held the strange key, which was warm and vibrated slightly, and felt that someone, somewhere gave this to me for a reason. I travel now, through time and space with the man I love, finding danger and escaping it. I have met foes I have never thought I would see again, and I have been forced to face the consequences of my past, along with avenging it. This is my story, and this is how it ends.
