Why, because y/n has a power where she can hear peoples thoughts, it gets louder the more anxious she is, but when she's calm or happy, it's like it not even there. But sadly for y/n, she was cursed with anxiety, it just so happens when she moves to Hawkins she finds a cure...who happens to be cute too. Y/n is 19 and in her senior year just like eddie. The reason she's 19 is because she joined school late, her parents still convinced Shes 18 still. Read the last part first please!!
