Shane's father left them right after Alice was born, not because he was a bad person, but because he wanted to protect them. Alice inherited her father's endothermic and exothermic powers, so she is able to manipulate heat, but Shane did not. When Alice joined the Autobot group to protect her older brother, she becomes a valuable friend to Optimus Prime and a dangerous and powerful enemy to the government and Decepticon forces.

After everything that happened Katelyn believed that she would be enjoying peaceful days with her new found family and her sparkemate Optimus prime but those peaceful days, come crashing down around them when their attacked by a new bunch of Decepticons who seemed to be after Optimus! and the reasons behind it are maybe clear when their contacted by William Lennox who explains that these Decepticons don't take orders from Megatron but from a Decepticon called Thunderwing who's preparing the way for his master by removing anything that's a threat and that they learnt all of this from one of the new decepticons that they manged to capture which means that Optimus is a threat due to the matrix inside of him since it can can stand in Thunderwings master's way! after hearing all of this Optimus and the other's team up with Lennox to come up with a plan to stop Thunderwing which cause some friction between her and Optimus due to her wanting to join the fight as well to protect Optimus and everyone else just like she had done before but in spite of the friction between them Katelyn believe's deep down as long as their together that they can over come this just like they had over came everything before!
